Neurosurgeons are often thought of as only brain surgeons.  In actuality, Neurosurgeons receive more training, education and experience in brain and spine surgery than any other physician.  In addition to medical school, neurosurgeons attend a seven year residency program which provides rigorous, comprehensive surgical training. 

In addition to this lengthy education program, some of neurosurgeons have additionally completed fellowship training which focused on brain and spine surgery.
